Are struggling to feel “seen” in their personal life and eager to build their confidence
Are in a sales-related profession or intending to climb the corporate ladder
Would like to enhance their communication skills
Want to try something new and different!
What you will learn
Through 4 in-person sessions and light homework in between, participants will:
Learn how to overcome nerves when speaking in public
Understand how body language and voice projection affect their message
Identify the main message of their personal or brand story
Learn the art of storytelling and how to craft an effective arc
Write an 8-minute speech with the assistance of instructors
Have the opportunity to workshop the speech
Perform the speech in front of a live audience (not mandatory)
Receive a filmed copy of their speech
What will you leave with?
Throughout the 4 weeks, participants will discover the essence of their personal story and learn how to write an engaging and captivating 8-minute speech.
After workshopping this speech in class, the course culminates in a performance night (see below for more info), in which students have the opportunity to give their speech in front of a live audience at the beautiful Rene Caisse theatre in Bracebridge. Though the performance is not mandatory, it is encouraged as a method to embody newfound confidence and gain experience in public speaking.
Participants will also receive the filmed version of their speech, which can then be used in a reel if they intend to pitch brands and conferences on their services as a professional speaker.
