Knowing vs. Thinking

11 years ago, I grew a brand new human inside my belly.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Boy, that was a wild experience.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But the truth was, I had very little to do with the whole thing.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Sure, I ate really well, hydrated, rested when necessary.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But mostly my body did all the work.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If I had needed to tell my body exactly the moment to jumpstart the faint beat of Juniper’s beautiful heart; if I had needed to tell my body exactly how to start weaving together her fingernails or eyelashes from literally NOTHING; if I had needed to tell my body exactly when to break my water and begin labour, well... I probably would have messed the whole thing up.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Thankfully, my body KNEW exactly what to do.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

And WOW! Today I’m totally blessed beyond belief with a heathy, happy, and whole human girl.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

She’s awesome. She’s beyond anything I could have created on my own, that’s for sure.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

That’s the perfection of KNOWING.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So often, our minds interfere. We THINK ourselves out of magical opportunities. Into stressful situations. Sometimes based purely on strange, paranoid stories our brains have made up that aren’t even true!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We THINK our way out of bliss and into drama. Turmoil. Disillusionment.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But what would happen if, instead, we simply chose to trust what we KNOW?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To trust that small, quiet, peaceful sensation that invites us to just relax into WHAT IS? To let go?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Imagine what we could create.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Imagine how we might make use of our one “wild and precious life” if we could just commit to this one holy directive:

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

THINK LESS.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

and

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

KNOW MORE.
